4-4-2 --In 1965 Oldsmobile created the 4-4-2. The Oldsmobile was named 4-4-2 because the car came with a four-speed, four - barrel carburetor, and dual exhaust in the F-85's. In 1966 the 4-4-2 also could be ordered with an automatic transmission. The 4-4-2s lasted through the 1980s.
300 Letter Cars --A line of high-performance luxury cars produced by Chrysler. When the cars were originally introduced in 1955 they were simply called Chrysler 300's. However, as the line continued the '56 version was designated 300B, the '57 version the 300C, and so forth all the way through the '66 300L. Interest in this particular line held through the '50s and many successful races at Daytona, but began to disintegrate once the letters were dropped from the name.
402 --Chevrolet big-block V-8s began midway through model year (1970). These V-8s that normally were 396 cubic inches actually were 402 cubic inches. Despite this interesting contradiction, Chevy never called these engines 402s.
455 H.O. --In this particular instance, "H.O." stood for "High Output." The title "455 H.O." was first used on the '71 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
